Ingredients

  • 3 c. whole wheat bread crumbs
  • 1 1/2 c. walnuts, chopped
  • 3 c. cooked brown rice
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1 tsp. sage
  • 1/3 c. whole wheat flour
  • 3/4 c. sunflower seeds
  • 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 2 c. water
  • 1 tsp. salt

Directions

    Saute chopped vegetables with sage, salt and soy sauce in 1/4 cup water.

    Blend flour and sunflower seeds with 2 cups water. Add to sauteed vegetables and simmer a few minutes.

    Place in bowl bread crumbs, walnuts and brown rice.

    Add sauteed vegetables and sunflower mixture.

    Mix well.

    Pour into casserole dish and bake at 350° for 45 to 60 minutes, until well browned.

    Serve with Chicken-like or Cashew Gravy.
