Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter
  • 2/3 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 1/4 c. very finely chopped walnuts

    Cream together butter, brown sugar and vanilla.

    Combine flour and baking powder; gradually blend into the creamed mixture.

    Stir in 3/4 cup of the walnuts.

    Divide dough in half.

    Shape each half into a roll 8 inches long.

    Roll each in the remaining walnuts. Wrap in waxed paper or plastic wrap and refrigerate several hours or freeze until firm.

    Cut into 1/4-inch slices.

    Place slices 1 inch apart on ungreased baking sheet.

    Bake at 350° for 10 to 12 minutes.
