- 1 tsp. allspice
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 2 c. hot water
- 1 c. lard or butter
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 c. preserves (whatever kind you like)
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- about 4 c. flour for a stiff batter
Directions

1Boil first 9 ingredients for 3 minutes.

2Add preserves, then add baking powder and the flour to make a stiff batter.

3Pour in tube pan.

4Bake in moderate oven.
