Warm Vanilla Bean Custard

  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/2 cup half and half
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 vanilla bean
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Directions

    Whisk together egg yolk, 1/2 & 1/2, sugar, seeds from the vanilla bean and vanilla extract.

    Cook over LOW heat for 8-10 minutes, stirring constantly until it thickens slightly.

    Remove from heat and set aside.

    Strain before serving
