- 3 c. sifted flour
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 c. shortening
- 1 c. currants
- 2 eggs
- 6 Tbsp. milk
- 1 c. butter or margarine
- 1 c. dark molasses
- 1 c. packed brown sugar
- 4 c. all-purpose flour
- 4 tsp. ginger
Directions

1Heat butter and molasses together until the butter has melted. Blend in the brown sugar.

2Mix in the flour and ginger thoroughly.

3While mixture is still hot, roll out dough, a small amount at a time, on a lightly floured board.

4It should be very thin.

5Cut with cookie cutters, hearts, diamonds, etc.

6Put on a greased cookie sheet.

7Bake in slow oven, 325°, for 15 minutes or until lightly browned.

8When rolled thin makes about 12 dozen.
