- 3 sticks butter or margarine
- 1 carton (1 lb.) Imperial brown sugar
- 6 eggs
- 1 carton (from sugar) full sifted flour
- 1 tsp. lemon juice
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla
Directions

1Have eggs and butter at room temperature.

2Cream butter; add brown sugar and beat until fluffy.

3Add eggs 1 at a time; beat well after each addition.

4Sift flour; add gradually to batter. Add lemon juice and vanilla; mix well.

5Bake in 10-inch greased and floured tube pan at 325° for about 1 hour.

6Cool 4 minutes, then invert pan.

7I use confectioners sugar instead of brown sugar.
