Ingredients
- 2 c. Wheat Chex cereal
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1 oz. cake yeast
- 1 c. milk
- 1 1/2 c. water
- 4 1/2 c. flour
Directions

1Mix Wheat Chex, salt, sugar and shortening.

2Heat milk in 1/4 cup water.

3Bring to boiling.

4Pour over mixture.

5Stir and let cool until lukewarm.

6Dissolve yeast in remaining 1/4 cup water (lukewarm).

7Stir into cooled mixture.

8Add flour, 1 cup at a time.

9Mix after each cup.
-
10Knead until smooth and elastic.

11Set in warm place to rise until double in size.

12Punch down and rise again.
-
13Bake 1 hour at 350°.

14Makes 2 loaves.
