  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1 c. milk
  • 3/4 c. water
  • 1/2 c. oil
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 2 1/2 to 3 c. whole wheat flour

Directions

    Stir together white flour and yeast.

    Heat milk, water, oil, sugar and salt until very warm (120° to 130°; use candy thermometer).

    Add liquid all at once to flour-yeast mixture. Beat at medium speed of mixer until smooth, about 2 minutes.

    Add enough flour to form soft dough.

    Mix well (either by hand or use mixer).

    Let stand 12 to 15 minutes.
