- 1/2 c. warm water
- 2 tsp. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. dry yeast
- 1 1/2 c. hot water
- 4 Tbsp. shortening
- 4 Tbsp. sugar
- 4 tsp. salt
- 2 c. cold milk
Directions

1This makes 4 loaves.

2Bake at 325°

3for 35 to 40 minutes. Dissolve yeast and 2 teaspoons sugar in warm water.

4Set aside for 10 minutes.

5Mix hot water, shortening, salt and sugar in large mixer bowl; add milk.

6Add 2 cups flour to make sure the mixture is cool enough to add the yeast.

7Add enough flour to make a soft dough.

8Knead a few minutes.

9Let rise twice, then work out in loaves.

10Let rise and bake.
