  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • 2 c. warm water
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. oil
  • 6 to 6 1/2 c. flour

Directions

    Dissolve yeast into water; stir in sugar and let sit for 10 minutes.

    Add salt, oil and flour.

    Make sure you add enough flour to be able to handle; knead until smooth and elastic.

    Cover and let sit until double.

    Punch down and shape into two loaves.

    Heat oven to 400°.

    Bake about 35 minutes or until loaves sound hollow. Spread with butter while still hot.
