Ingredients
- 2 c. warm water
- 2 pkg. yeast
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. salt
- 4 Tbsp. melted shortening
- 5 1/4 to 5 1/2 c. flour
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water.

2Stir in sugar, egg and shortening.

3(Grease hands.)

4Mix in flour to make soft dough. Knead it until mixed well.

5Put in greased bowl and let rise 1 hour.

6Punch down.

7Make into 2 loaves and put in 2 greased loaf pans.

8Let rise for 1 hour.
-
9Bake in moderate oven at 325° for approximately 40 minutes.

10Top should be golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.

11Rub with butter after done.
