- 2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. oleo
- 2 unbeaten egg whites
- 2 3/4 c. sifted flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 3/4 c. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Beat sugar, oleo and egg whites until fluffy.

2To buttermilk, add soda and vanilla.

3Mix flour and baking powder.

4Alternate into egg whites the buttermilk mixture and flour mixture, ending with flour mixture.

5Pour into lined 9-inch round pan or greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan.

6Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes or until it springs back.

7Cool and frost.
