- 2 Tbsp. butter, melted
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 3 c. flour
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 large egg
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- nuts or fruits (raisins are great; 3/4 c. nuts, etc.)
Directions

1Cream butter and sugar together.

2Sift dry ingredients together and add to creamed mixture.

3Beat egg and milk together. Stir in well beaten egg and milk mixture.

4Add nuts or fruits. Pour into greased bread loaf pan (8 x 4-inch).

5Let stand 20 minutes before baking.

6Bake at 350° for 70 minutes.
