- 2 1/2 c. milk
- 1/2 c. honey
- 2 tsp. salt
- 2 eggs
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 3 c. whole wheat flour
- 3 1/2 to 4 c. all-purpose flour
- melted butter or margarine
Directions

1Heat milk to 110° to 115°, remove from heat.

2Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm milk in a small bowl.

3Let stand 5 minutes. Combine remaining milk, honey, shortening, salt and whole wheat flour; beat at medium speed with an electric mixer until smooth. Add yeast and eggs; mix well.

4Gradually stir in enough all-purpose flour to make a stiff dough.

5Place in a well-greased bowl, turning to grease top.

6Cover and let rise in a warm place (85°), 1 hour or until doubled in bulk.
