Wilted Lettuce

  • 4 strips bacon
  • 4 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • lettuce

Directions

    Fry bacon in large frying pan.

    Remove bacon from pan and add vinegar and sugar to the grease.

    Cook until well blended.

    Add onion and as much lettuce as the pan will hold.

    (May be head of lettuce cut up or leaf lettuce.) Cook in liquid, tossing frequently, until lettuce begins to wilt.

    Take off heat and add the bacon, cut up.

    Serve immediately.
