  • 2 cups port wine
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon grated lemon zest
  • 6 medium Bosc pears, peeled

Directions

    Place wine, sugar and lemon zest in a 5-qt. slow cooker; stir until sugar dissolves. Add pears.

    Cook, covered, on low 3-4 hours or until pears are tender, turning pears halfway through cooking. Using a slotted spoon, remove pears; cut into slices (save cooking liquid for another use).
