  • 3/4 cup Land O Lakes Butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 Land O Lakes All-Natural Egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 4 (1-ounce) squares unsweetened baking chocolate, melted, cooled slightly
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Decorator sugar and/or candies
  • 48 milk chocolate candy kisses

Directions

    Combine butter, 1/2 cup sugar and brown sugar in bowl.

    Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy.

    Add egg, vanilla and melted chocolate; continue beating until well mixed.

    Add flour, baking soda and salt; beat at low speed until well mixed.

    Divide dough in half; wrap in plastic food wrap.

    Refrigerate about 2 hours until firm.

    Heat oven to 375F.

    Roll teaspoonfuls of dough into 1-inch balls.

    Place 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets.

    Press ball to about 1/8 inch with glass dipped in sugar; sprinkle with decorator sugars or candies.

    Bake 7-9 minutes or until set and cookies just begin to crack.

    Immediately press 1 chocolate kiss in center of each cookie.

    Cool 1 minute on cookie sheets; remove to cooling rack.
