- 1/2 c. warm water
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 5 c. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 3/4 c. margarine
- 2 c. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. baking soda
Directions

1Combine warm water and yeast together in a small bowl.

2Set aside.

3Mix flour, salt, baking powder and sugar in a large bowl. Cut margarine into dry ingredients until fine and crumbly.

4Add baking soda to buttermilk and stir well.

5Pour yeast mixture and buttermilk mixture into dry ingredients and knead well.

6Form the dough into a soft ball and roll out onto a floured surface (about 1/2 inch thick).

7Cut biscuits and place with sides touching on a greased cookie sheet.

8Let stand in a warm area 10 to 15 minutes and bake at 425° until lightly brown.
