- 5 c. self-rising flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 2 c. buttermilk
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1 c. shortening
- 2 pkg. dry yeast, melted in 3/4 c. warm water
Directions

1Preheat oven to 400°.

2Sift flour and soda and mix in sugar. Add shortening, buttermilk and yeast and mix as you do any other biscuits.

3Dip out a heaping tablespoonful.

4Flour hands well before rolling each biscuit.

5Lay on biscuit pan and pat lightly. Don't mash.

6After you have biscuits on pan, set on top of stove for 10 minutes to let rise.

7Cook in 400° oven until golden brown.
