- 4 c. self-rising flour
- 3/4 tsp. soda
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 3/4 c. shortening
- 2 cakes yeast
- 3 Tbsp. water
- 1 3/4 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Mix first 3 ingredients well.

2Add shortening.

3Mix well by hand.

4Dissolve 2 cakes yeast in 3 tablespoons warm water.

5Add this and 1 3/4 cups buttermilk to flour.

6Mix well.

7Store in airtight container in refrigerator.

8When ready to use, roll as for biscuits.

9Let rise 1 hour.

10Bake at 450° for 8 to 10 minutes.
