- 2 pkg. yeast
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 1 1/2 c. milk, scalded
- 2 tsp. salt
- 5 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 1/4 c. melted shortening or salad oil
Directions

1Put yeast to set in warm water and melt shortening and scald milk.

2Let both cool to lukewarm.

3Then put into mixing bowl the milk, shortening, salt, sugar and 2 cups flour.

4Beat well.

5Add yeast and egg; mix well.

6Then add rest of flour.

7Mix well.

8Turn on floured board and knead about 20 times.

9Make out into rolls; let rise about 1 hour.

10Bake at 400° for 15 to 20 minutes.

11Dough can be stored in refrigerator for several days.
