- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1/4 c. lukewarm water
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/3 c. sugar
- shortening
- 2 c. warm water
- 7 to 8 c. flour
Directions

1Mix yeast, salt and 1/4 cup water; stir.

2Add sugar, shortening and 2 cups water, then gradually add flour.

3Knead and let it rise until double in size.

4Now it's ready to shape in rolls or a loaf. Let rise again, then bake at 400° for 20 minutes if making rolls or bake loaf at 350° for 45 minutes to an hour.
