- 3 1/2 c. flour, sifted
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 egg
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 c. lukewarm water
Directions

1Sift dry ingredients together.

2Cut in shortening and egg. Dissolve yeast in water and add to flour mixture.

3Knead until smooth.

4Roll and cut.

5Make cloverleaf rolls.

6Can be kept in refrigerator up to 1 week.

7Raise for 1 hour, then bake at 400° until golden brown.

8Makes 2 thick crusts.
