- 2 c. very warm water
- 4 tsp. dry yeast or 2 packets
- 1/3 c. plus 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. butter, melted and slightly cooled
- 6 c. bread flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
Directions

1In a large bowl, whisk yeast and sugar together in warm water until dissolved.

2Set aside for 15 minutes.

3This mixture will rise and become foamy.

4After 15 minutes, whisk salt and melted butter into yeast mixture.

5Add flour, 1 cup at a time, beating well after each addition.

6The last few cups will be hard to incorporate; stir in as much as you can, then transfer to floured surface and knead in the rest of the flour.
