  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 1 c. real warm water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/3 c. shortening
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 3 c. flour

Directions

    Dissolve yeast in water.

    Add sugar, salt and shortening (have shortening melted and warm, not hot).

    Take 1 1/2 cups flour and beat into mixture with spoon.

    Put in rest of flour and work with hands until it is of a smooth texture.

    Sit in warm place and let double in size.

    Work down and cut rolls.

    Let raise again and bake for 15 to 20 minutes at 450°.
