- 2 pkg. yeast
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 1/2 c. water
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 2 eggs
- 8 c. flour
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water with 1 teaspoon sugar. Heat 1 1/2 cups water, 1/2 cup sugar, salt and shortening until dissolved; then cool to lukewarm.

2In a large mixing bowl beat eggs well.

3Add shortening, sugar, salt and water mixture.

4Beat well. Add dissolved yeast.

5Add about 5 cups flour; mix well.

6Then add 2 to 3 cups more or less.

7Turn on a floured board and knead.

8Return to mixing bowl in which a little oil has been added.

9Flip over so top will be moistened with oil.

10Let rise to double in size.

11Knead again.

12Make into rolls.

13Let rise again.

14Bake in a 400° oven until golden brown.

15While hot, brush with butter.

16May be reheated in microwave or frozen.
