- 3/4 c. milk
- 3/4 c. water
- 1/4 c. margarine
- 4 1/2 to 5 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 (1/4 oz.) pkg. active dry yeast
- 1 egg
Directions

1Grease large bowl.

2Heat milk, water and butter in a saucepan until very warm (120° to 130°).

3Combine 2 cups of flour, sugar, salt and yeast in mixing bowl.

4Add heated mixture and egg.

5Beat with electric mixer on high speed 2 minutes.

6Stir in enough flour to make soft dough.

7Turn dough onto floured board.

8Cover with mixing bowl. Let set 10 minutes.

9Knead until smooth and elastic, about 8 to 10 minutes.

10Form ball with dough and place in greased bowl.

11Turn once to grease top.

12Cover and let rise in warm place, free from draft, until double in bulk, about 45 minutes.
