- 4 c. flour
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1/3 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 yeast cake
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 1 egg
Directions

1Combine milk, sugar and salt.

2Heat to scalding.

3Dissolve yeast cake in warm water.

4Beat egg.

5Combine all ingredients and pour into flour.

6Make into soft dough; let rise at room temperature until double in size.

7Store in coldest part of refrigerator until ready to be used.

8Shape into rolls and let rise at room temperature until double in size.

9Bake in a hot 400° oven until done, about 12 minutes.
