- 2 1/4 c. uncooked rice
- 1/4 c. margarine
- 4 c. boiling water
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 tsp. turmeric
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 c. raisins
Directions

1Stir rice and margarine into boiling water in a saucepan.

2Add cinnamon stick, turmeric, salt and bay leaf.

3Bring to a boil. Reduce to a simmer.

4Simmer, covered, 20 minutes or until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.

5Discard cinnamon stick and bay leaf.

6Stir in raisins.
