Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons Butter
  • 1/2 whole Onion
  • Salt And Pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoons Ground Cumin
  • 1 pinch Red Pepper Flakes
  • 2 cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 1 cup Long Grain White Rice
  • 2 cups Chicken Or Vegetable Broth
  • 1/4 teaspoons Turmeric
  • 1/2 cups Frozen Green Peas

Directions

    Melt butter in a medium-sized pot over medium heat. Add onions, season with salt, black pepper, cumin and red pepper flakes. Saute 3-5 minutes or until onions are translucent.

    Add garlic and saute 30 seconds. Add rice and saute for an additional minute. Add broth and turmeric and stir to combine. Cover and bring to a boil. Reduce to a simmer and cook for 20 minutes or until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.

    Fluff with fork, add in peas and taste for seasoning. Cover, remove from heat and allow rice to rest about 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy.
