Yogurt Dinner Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 c. plain low-fat yogurt
  • 1 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 pkg. active dry yeast
  • 1 1/4 c. white flour
  • 1 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 1 tsp. marjoram
  • 1 tsp. basil
  • 2 Tbsp. onion, grated

Directions

    In a saucepan, heat together yogurt, margarine, water and sugar until margarine is melted.

    Set aside and let cool to lukewarm.

    In a large bowl, combine yeast, 3/4 cup white flour, 3/4 cup whole wheat flour and baking soda.

    Add cooled liquid mixture to yeast flour mixture and then add egg, spices and grated onion.

    Beat at low speed with an electric mixer for 30 seconds.

    Beat 3 minutes at high speed.
