Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. whole Brazil nuts
  • 1 1/2 c. walnut halves or 3 c. mixed nuts, toasted
  • 1 (7 oz.) pkg. whole dates
  • 1/2 c. candied cherries (whole)
  • 3/4 c. each: candied pineapple and citron
  • 2/3 c. flour
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 eggs

Directions

    Sift sugar, flour, baking powder and salt over fruit and nuts; coat well.

    Beat eggs until light.

    Add vanilla.

    Blend into fruit and nuts.

    Batter will be stiff.

    Spoon into paper lined pans. Bake at 300° for approximately 1 3/4 hours.

    Cool in pans for 10 minutes.

    Turn out.
