Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
  • 3/4 c. melted butter
  • 1/3 c. evaporated milk
  • 1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 bag caramels (approximately 50)
  • 1/3 c. evaporated milk

Directions

    Mix together cake mix, butter and 1/3 cup evaporated milk. Spread half of this in lightly greased 9 x 13-inch pan.

    Bake at 350° for 8 minutes.

    Sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts on top immediately after removing from oven.

    Melt caramels with remaining evaporated milk and drizzle over chips and nuts.

    Crumble and put remaining cake mixture on top (may not be crumbly, but just put blobs of it over the entire top and spread with a spoon). Bake another 20 minutes at 350°.
