  • 500 grams basmati rice
  • 125 grams sugar
  • 5 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp saffron
  • 1 tbsp raisins
  • 1 blanched slivered almonds, cashews, and pistachios
  • 1 juice of one lime
  • 1/4 cup ghee
  • 3 clove
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 3 green cardamons
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder

    in one cup of water melt the sugar

    in the rest of the water infuse with the turmeric powder

    parboil rice in the tumeric water strain

    pour the lime juice over the rice and rinse this is to make sure your rice doesn't stick together

    put rice in sugar water

    melt the ghee and fry the spices, add rice and sugar water.

    stir in saffron, raisins ,and nuts cover and cook over a low heat

    may be served warm or cold
