  • 1 can (15.5 oz.) or chick peas, undrained

  • 1/2 tsp. minced garlic
  • 1/2 tsp. dried basil leaves
  • 1/2 tsp. hot pepper sauce
  • fresh basil, for garnish
  • stoned wheat crackers

Directions

    Drain garbanzo beans or chick peas, reserving 1/4 cup liquid.

    Blend beans, reserved liquid, onion, lemon juice, garlic, basil and liquid hot pepper seasoning in food processor or electric blender until smooth.

    Cover; refrigerate until serving time.

    Garnish with basil leaves if desired.
