  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. warm water
  • 1 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 egg
  • 3 c. flour
  • 2 Tbsp. shortening, melted

Directions

    Dissolve yeast in a large warm mixing bowl. Add sugar, salt and unbeaten egg. Add flour gradually, mixing well.

    Beat and add shortening. Fill well-greased muffin pans 1/3 full.

    Let rise in warm place until level with pan or about 30 minutes. Bake at 375° or 400° for 20 minutes.
