  • 18 1/4 ounces yellow cake mix
  • 1 (20 ounce) can apple pie filling
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon apple pie spice
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • Frosting
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup dark corn syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 tablespoon grated dry orange rind
  • 3 1/2 cups sifted confectioners' sugar or 1 container cream cheese frosting
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 tablespoon grated dry orange rind

Directions

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

    Blend apple pie filling, eggs, apple pie spice and cloves until smooth.

    Place in large bowl.

    Add cake mix.

    Beat for 4 minutes.

    Stir in nuts and raisins.

    Pour into a 13 x 9 pan that has been greased and floured or sprayed with Baker's Joy.

    Bake for 55 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out dry.

    Cool on rack.

    Frost when cool using either of the above recipes.

    Frosting: For either method: Combine all ingredients.
