Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1/2 c. celery, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/2 c. fresh mushrooms
  • 1 c. Ala (uncooked)
  • 1/4 tsp. dill weed
  • 1/4 tsp. oregano
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 2 c. beef or chicken bouillon
  • 1 Tbsp. parsley

Directions

    Melt margarine; add Ala and vegetables.

    Stir until tender and Ala is browned.

    Add seasonings and bouillon.

    Bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes.

    Can add grated carrots, chopped peanuts, raisins or green pepper and olives.

    Ala is cracked wheat.
