- 1 pound Pasta (Penne Or Your Favorite Shape)
- 2 cups Peas, Frozen Or Thawed
- 4 Tablespoons Butter, Unsalted
- 4 Tablespoons Flour
- 1/4 cups Heavy Whipping Cream
- 8 Tablespoons Parmesan Cheese, Shredded, Divided Use
- 1/2 teaspoons Salt
- 1/4 teaspoons Pepper
- 1 dash Nutmeg, Freshly Grated
- 4 slices Bacon, Cooked And Crumbled
Directions

1Cook the pasta according to directions on package.

2Drain pasta, reserving 1/4 cup of the water.

3Set the reserved water aside.

4Then stir the hot pasta in a large bowl with the peas (this helps defrost the peas).

5Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Prepare a 3-quart casserole dish with butter or spray with cooking spray.

6Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.

7Stir in the flour and let it soak up all the butter until its like a paste.

8Then whisk in the whipping cream until there are no clumps.

9Whisk in half of the parmesan cheese until melted.

10Whisk occasionally while it cooks and thickens.

11Dont let it boil if it starts to, then lower the heat a bit.

12Season with salt and pepper to taste and the nutmeg if you choose.

13Once its warmed through and thickened up just a bit, pour the sauce into the large bowl over the pasta and peas.

14Stir in half of the bacon.

15If it gets too thick or glue-like, pour in some of the reserved pasta water to help thin it out.

16It should be creamy.

17Pour the pasta mix into the prepared casserole dish.

18Sprinkle the remaining bacon pieces over the top and then the remaining parmesan cheese.

19Bake for about 25 minutes.

20Serve with your favorite salad.
