  • 1 Tbsp. oil
  • 2 large cloves garlic, crushed with knife blade (optional)
  • 1/4 c. whole unblanched almonds
  • 1 1/3 c. warm water (105~ to 115~)
  • 1 tsp. active dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 1/2 c. flour

    Preheat oven to 350°.

    Heat oil in small skillet; add garlic and almonds.

    Cook and stir over medium heat until almonds are lightly toasted.

    Drain; cool on paper towels.

    Discard garlic. Chop almonds very fine; set aside.
