- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. oil
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. almond extract
- blanched almonds
Directions

1Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.

2Combine oil with sugar; beat in egg and extract.

3Add flour mixture.

4If dough is crumbly, add a few drops of water to form a stiff dough.

5Roll to 1/2-inch thick; cut with 2-inch cookie cutter.

6Press an almond in center of each cookie.

7Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 350° until cookies are golden, 12 to 15 minutes.

8Makes 2 dozen cookies.
