Almond Paste

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. (8 oz.) whole blanched almonds
  • 1 1/2 c. sifted powdered sugar
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tsp. almond extract
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

Directions

    In food processor, grind almonds very fine, enough to make 1 3/4 cups (may need to grind 1/2 at a time).

    Put 1 3/4 cups almonds back in processor, add rest of ingredients.

    Blend to a paste. Store in tightly sealed jar or plastic bag.

    Yields 1 1/3 cups paste.
