- 2 c. sugar
- 3 c. plain flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. sweet milk
- 1 c. Crisco
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Cream Crisco and sugar well.

2Sift together flour, salt and baking powder.

3Separate eggs.

4Beat egg whites until stiff.

5Mix together flour and milk with the Crisco and sugar mixture, making sure to alternate flour and milk, beginning with flour and ending with flour.

6Add vanilla.

7Fold in egg whites.

8Bake at 300°.
