  • 2 c. water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. cornmeal
  • 2 Tbsp. shortening
  • 1/2 c. warm ???
  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 c. molasses
  • 6 to 8 c. flour

Directions

    Combine water, salt, cornmeal and shortening.

    Cook until thick; cool.

    Combine and blend well the rest of the ingredients. Knead and let rise.

    Punch down and form into 2 loaves.

    Put in bread pans.

    Let rise until double.

    Bake at 375°

    for 40 to 50 minutes.
