- 5 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1 c. shortening
- 2 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Sift dry ingredients together.

2Cut in shortening.

3Dissolve yeast in warm water; add to buttermilk.

4Stir well.

5Add to flour mixture; mix until blended.

6Knead for 1 minute, or until smooth. Roll to 1/4-inch thickness.

7Cut; place on ungreased biscuit pan. Bake at 450° for 10 minutes.

8Dough may be stored in bulk for 3 or 4 days in the refrigerator.
