- 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. ginger
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 c. walnuts, chopped
- 1/4 c. vegetable shortening
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 can pumpkin
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Mix together dry ingredients.

2Melt shortening, add brown sugar and stir.

3Remove from heat.

4Add pumpkin, add remaining ingredients and mix.

5Pour into greased 9 x 13-inch pan.

6Bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes.

7Sift powdered sugar over bars.

8Yield: 52 (1 1/2 inch square).
