- 1 pkg. yeast
- 5 Tbsp. water
- 5 c. flour
- 5 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 c. shortening
- 2 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in water and set aside.

2Sift flour, baking powder, soda, salt and sugar together into large bowl.

3Cut shortening into dry ingredients, then add buttermilk and dissolved yeast.

4Mix well.

5Knead lightly.

6Do not let rise!!!

7Shape into rounds and bake at 425° for 20 to 25 minutes.
