- 5 c. self-rising flour
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 c. shortening
- 2 c. warm buttermilk
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water; set aside.

2Mix flour, soda and sugar; cut in shortening.

3Add buttermilk and yeast and mix together.

4Let rise 10 to 15 minutes.

5Roll out and bake until done.

6Cook at 400° until brown.
