- 5 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 Tbsp. shortening
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 c. warm water
- 2 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water.

2Stir baking soda in buttermilk. Mix all ingredients together in a bowl.

3Knead dough on a floured service several times.

4Return dough to lightly greased bowl and cover with plastic wrap.

5Let set overnight.

6Pinch off small amounts of dough and form into balls.

7Place in greased muffin pans and let rise.

8Bake at 325° until golden brown.

9Dough will keep refrigerated 5 to 7 days.
