- 1 pkg. yeast
- 2 1/2 Tbsp. warm water
- 3 1/4 c. flour
- 2 1/4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/8 tsp. soda
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water; set aside.

2Sift flour, baking powder, soda, salt and sugar.

3Cut in shortening.

4Add milk to yeast mixture and combine with flour mixture.

5Knead slightly. Roll out to 1/2-inch thickness; cut.

6Place in pan and brush lightly with melted butter.

7Let rise 30 minutes or refrigerate overnight.

8Bake at 400° until golden brown, 10 to 15 minutes.
